MANUFACTURING COST ESTIMATOR (Req 20 140) - Program Management Contract

Job Location: Saint Inigoes, MD
Department: Program Management Contract

Responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing or engineering services to aid in bidding on or determining price of products and services. Interpret engineering blueprints, specifications and other data to prepare accurate time, cost, material and labor estimates. Consult with subcontractors, management and personnel in other departments to determine manufacturing processes to ensure accuracy of quotes; Break down the manufacturing process by operations and inspections including any parts, tools and equipment needed. Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors. Review material and labor requirement to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchase components. Confer with customers to resolve issues and to follow-up on quote status. Review internal and customer supplied documentation for accuracy and completeness, considering manufacturing processes and capabilities. Interface with external customers in order to obtain appropriate specifications, computer files and documents. Create manufacturing process plans for details and assemblies, including, but not limited to, determining material sizes, plating requirements, coordinator of details and assemblies, and quality requirements.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a technical school, trade school or advanced technical school curriculum or course of training in mechanics or engineering technology; or completion of at least twenty-four (24) semester hours of course of studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific or technical curriculum.

Experience: Five (5) years experience in a Machine Shop environment. Strong ability to read engineering drawings. Knowledge of materials (stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.). Computer literacy. Solidworks or CAD skills and ability to re-do drawings. Ability to communicate and deliver information accurately. Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills.

Other: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
